Shoelace Terror

“Dude, get out the road! The car is about to run you over!!!” said Yesenia.

“I can’t! I’m hurt!!!”I yelled. My heart was bouncing like a kangaroo on a trampoline. She reached down to help me up,but it was too little too late….The light went green, and I heard the motor of a car getting closer and closer; I closed my eyes and held the pain.
Wow!! Wasn’t that exciting? Well, let me take you back in time and tell you how I got in that position. It was a Sunday morning. I was 7 years old, and I was in my house in Seaside. The phone rang and I picked it up. It was Yesenia asking me to go to Fisherman’s Wharf.Yesenias mom thought it would be an even greater idea if we take the bike trail to go. We would meet at my house in half-and hour.
When it was time for us to go everything was ready. I saw that people where coming and I knew it was Yesenia,before I could even open the door I hear my mom say “Hey,tie your shoelaces ir else your going to fall!!!” I really didn’t care I mean my shoelaces where loose many times before and nothing happened, so I kept running.
Everything was set so we kept so we started walking ,then Yesenia wanted to go to the bathroom so we told our parents that they can walk ahead and I’ll wait for Yesenia ,then we will catch up to them. We went running as fast as we could. I remembered about my shoelace, so we I decide to walk. When it was time to cross the street I didn’t fall. When we got to the corner of Embassy Suites and where about to cross the street, I knew something was going to happen.
We where in a rush so Yesenia kept pushing the button as hard as I could. Finally the little white man came out and we started walking. For some strange reason my shoelace kept coming up in my mind. We crossed the street and…………I fell!!!!
‘ooooww my leg!!!! I screamed Yesenia panicked she didn’t know what to do. She finally looked at the cars than at me then at the traffic lights she noticed that the lights went green and cars where honking. Yesenia made signals so the cars wont run over me and they can wait. Meanwhile I was on the ground and everything disappeared and it was white. I felt tired and I was I was asleep for a few minutes. I felt something kick my then just like that I woke up. When I noticed I was on the ground and the drivers were getting frustrated I got up with pain in my knee and walked to the sidewalk.Yesenia looked at me and ran to catch up when the drivers saw that I was okay and they saw that even if I was really hurt but just so they can get on with their lives I got up.When yesenia and I kept walking we heard all the drivers honking and yelling ‘Thank you’ and ‘Way to go’!!
I was relived that all of that was done and of chest. We cached up with our parents very glad to see them.Yesenia and I decided that everything that happened was going to be our little secret and that we were going to tell our parents later on in life.The only thing I told my mom was ‘I will always tie my shoelaces mom’.
