The Coast Guard Pier Gone Bad

I didn’t know that the Coast Guard Pier was turned into a haunted house during Halloween. My friend Aryan, aka Ernie, told me about it and asked if I wanted to go with him and my friend Dillon. I said yes because it sounded really fun and exciting.
“Hey Logan,” Ernie said, “Did I tell you that this haunted house is one of the scariest in California?”
“Ah, NO!!” I said, “You didn’t tell me...why not!?”
He, of course, said he didn’t know and then tried teasing me about how I was afraid. I didn’t like it and then got him in a head lock and made him promise not to tease me. So he stopped. When we finally got there I was amazed at how terrifying it looked from the outside; it was grey the shutters were flapping in the wind and the windows were broken. You heard screams from inside too.
When we at last got inside, after waiting 20 minutes, there was a werewolf looking at us. It started running at us, but then was jolted back because it was chained to the wall. It was very, very frightening! We started to walk up a flight of stairs when I grabbed my friend Ernie’s shirt and pulled him back. He screamed then realized it was just me. Dillon and I started laughing our heads off. Ernie got really mad but couldn’t stay that way, because a witch popped out with a bloody ax! Everyone yelped with fright. Wow, it was going to be a long walk through the haunted house!
Everyone cheered when we saw the exit. But then a man with a chainsaw came out of nowhere and started charging after us. We all ran as fast as we could out the exit and down the street. I had never seen Ernie sprint so fast before. He must have been really scared!
After we ran away we decided to go out to ice cream. I got a Like It size of cold stone I got cake batter ice cream. While we were in the haunted house I remembered video cameras watching us. I wondered what for?
When we drove past the pier on the way home I saw a big projector playing something. I asked if we could go over there and look. Ernie’s mom, who drove us there, said sure. So we got out and walked over. I couldn’t believe what I saw. There we were going through the haunted house! Then the people that ran the haunted house saw us there and all started laughing. I was embarrassed, and my face turned all red. They stopped and apologized. I think they felt bad for us. We asked what they were going to do with that film, and they said that KION was supposed to come and put it on the news, but they didn’t show. I was glad they didn’t come because I looked funny and so did Ernie and Dillon.
Later I was thinking what if KION really came! We would be the laughing stock at school. But we could have handled it; I think .I have learned that being scared usually has a consequence. I think it was really worth it in the end. So we showed up next year and had a great time!
