Tree Mania
I had no idea
how dangerous it could be to jump off a tree. That boring, sunny, Saturday afternoon,
I kindly asked my mother,
“Can I please go to Alejandra’s house? I am so bored.”
“Yes.” Declared my mother.
“okayyy!” I replied joyfully.
The ride to Alejandra’s house was satisfying. As soon as I got to her house,
I asked her,
“Do you wanna’ climb the tree?”
“Yeah!” Alejandra exclaimed.
As we climbed the big oak tree filled with green leaves, I had the craziest
idea to jump off it. As we got on the highest branch we could sit on, afraid
she might say no, I daringly asked Alejandra,
“Hey?! Do you wanna’ jump off the tree?!”
“Oh-yeah.” Alejandra voiced.
As Alejandra grabbed the branch that was best to jump off from, she grabbed
the highest branch with her hands and let her feet go off the branch near it.
After about ten seconds, Alejandra cautiously let go off the branch and landed
on her feet. She started laughing because she was happy she was still okay.
“Girls! Come back inside! It’s getting dark out there” Alejandra’s mother announced
from the kitchen, inside.
“Okay!” Alejandra exclaimed back.
I thought it wasn’t a good idea to jump off from the highest branch, but there
was no choice at all. Alejandra’s mother was calling us to go back inside. If
Alejandra could jump off and still be fine, I could too. So I did.
“OH MY GOD!” I shouted as I landed on my butt and hit my right cheek with my
right knee!
“Are you okay?” Alejandra asked.
“Yeah..” I said about to cry.
The first thing I did was to check inside my mouth to see if I was bleeding;
good thing I wasn’t. It was hard to stand up. I felt embarrassed. I was trying
to act nonchalant when I really wanted to cry.
“Ahahahahahahahahaha!” Alejandra laughed.
As we went back inside the house, I couldn’t feel my face and my eyes were watery,
as if I was about to cry. About ten minutes had passed, and I felt a lot better.
I still couldn’t believe what happened, but it did.
My tip for you would be to NEVER do something dangerous. I did really learn
my lesson, and I don’t think I’ll ever jump of a tree again.
