Lost

I could feel my face overheating. I stood alone, only the racks of clothes by my side. When my mom my baby brother and I arrived at Target I would have never guessed what would happen that day. I was about seven at the time, and we were shopping in the women’s cloths section.
“Over here!” my mom exclaimed. She was leading me to the adult’s clothes. I rushed over to her hoping she would not disappear. My baby brother’s stroller was taking up all the room so I could not walk beside her. Lagging behind, distracted from all of the glamorous clothes, I could barely keep sight of her. I kept sprinting every once in a while. Soon enough I gave up and started to hold onto the stroller.
“Hold on mom.” I called as I let go of the stroller. My shoe was untied so I bent down to tie it again. The shoes were very easily untied, so I don’t know why I bought them. I was so preoccupied with tying my shoe that I could not see the stroller wheels turn out of view.
When I was finally done tying my shoe I was surprised to see the stroller had vanished. Not having a clue of what to do, I panicked. My face instantly turned a bright red. Thirty seconds had past, and I was about to burst into tears. Just then another lady with a stroller turned the corner and said “ She’s right over there, honey.”
With my eyes wet with tears, I turned the opposite corner. Low and behold there was my mother! Giddy with joy I squeezed her guts out. “ Are you o.k.?” my mom asked me. I nodded my head yes, and hold onto her hand the rest of the day.
